These glass lenses for optical instruments are currently on display in the city of Jena’s Optical Museum. They can be seen in a reconstruction of the workshop of Carl Zeiss (1816- 1888), one of Germany’s most famous opticians whose company later went on to manufacture high quality camera lenses. The museum, which is the only one of its kind in Germany, houses a fascinating collection of optical instruments, illustrating their development through five centuries.
