Who will form the next government in Britain?

Marcus SchlenchMay 8, 2010

Who will form the next government in Britain? That's the big question two days after voters cast their ballots, leaving the country's two main parties without enough seats to govern. The Conservatives make up the biggest party, but are well short of the 326 seats needed for an overall majority. Prime Minister Gordon Brown's Labour Party was hit hard and suffered big losses. The focus is now on the smaller parties, particularly the Liberal Democrats. Despite losing a handful of seats, they are in the position of kingmaker.
