Tibet: Chinese troops open fire on protestors - je 20.03.2008 20

The Chinese government has been sending more troops to quelle anti-China protests in Tibet. The state-run Xinhua news agency today admitted that Chinese police opened fire on protestors in the western province of Sichuan over the weekend, wounding four people. On the diplomatic front, the US state department said Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was pushing for China to open dialogue with Tibet's spiritual leader, the Dalai Lama.
