The German foreign minister Westerwelle sais he will not attend the conference on Afghanistan if it was limited to the question of troop levels

The German foreign minister Guido Westerwelle is fending off criticism after suggesting that Germany might boycott a conference on Afghanistan. This after an interview in the Stern Magazine, where Westerwelle said he would not attend the talks in London if they were limited to the question of troop levels. The foreign ministry described January's conference as an important landmark but is insisting on a "broad political approach" to the Afghan conflict.
