This year's German Africa Award has gone to Christiana Thorpe for her work as Chairman of Sierra Leone 's National Election Commission. The German Africa Foundation, which is supported by Deutsche Welle, presents the annual prize to individuals striving for peace, democracy and human rights in Africa.
