A young woman from Russia's southern region of Dagestan has been indentified as one of the Moscow suicide bombers, news agencies said, quoting Russia's National Anti-Terror Committee.

"One of the female suicide bombers, who blew herself up at the Park Kultury metro station, was Dzhennet Abdurakhmanova," a Committee official told the Interfax news agency.

"She was born in 1992 and lived in the Khasavyurtsky region of Dagestan. The material has been sent to the investigative committee of Russian prosecutors," the official added.

No details of second attacker

Earlier, the Russian daily Kommersant had named Abdurakhmanova, describing her as the widow of an Islamist militant, Umalat Magomedov, who was killed by Russian forces on December 31 last year.

No details were given about the second suicide bomber who, along with Abdurakhmanova, blew herself up on the Moscow metro on Monday, killing a total of 40 people.

Investigators suspect that the second attacker could be a Chechen woman called Markha Ustarkhanova, the widow of another Caucasus militant, Kommersant reported.
