Rising Tension Between Pakistan and Iran

21/10/09October 21, 2009

Tension has erupted between the usually friendly neighbours Pakistan and Iran since a suicide bombing last weekend killed dozens of people in Iranian Balochistan, close to the Pakistani border. Several high-ranking officers of the Revolutionary Guards died in the worst terrorist attack Iran had seen in years. Tehran says the attackers came from Pakistan. Iran has called on Islamabad to arrest the leaders of Jundullah, the rebel group which claimed responsibility for the attack.
