Pressure increases on Germany's defence minister over an airstrike that killed civilians in Afghanistan

Two former defence officals have contradicted a claim by the defence minister that he was not properly informed about a German-ordered airstrike in Afghanistan last year. Testifying before a German parliamentary investigative committee, Wolfgang Schneiderhan and Peter Wichert were fired last November by defense minister Karl Theodor zu Guttenberg. He accused them of withholding information about the strike which resulted in numerous civilian casualties.
