Opposition politicians have lashed out at foreign minister Westerwelle

Opposition politicians in Germany have lashed out at foreign minister and deputy chancellor Guido Westerwelle after he said the country was dominated by what he called "spiritual socialism". Westerwelle made the comment after the country's highest court called for changes to welfare payments to ensure their all those dependent on the state were able to live in dignity. Westerwelle criticized the ruling.. saying people who work must have more than those on welfare.
