Solar energy is growing in popularity, but the equipment designed to tap into it remains untested in many ways. Solar panels are meant to last roughly 25 years, but buyers have had to take the manufacturers' word for it up to now. New technology is currently being employed in southern Germany that really puts solar panels through their paces. The units are subjected to 3- times the heat that they would normally have to withstand. Those that pass the test with flying colours have a clear edge over their rivals in this competitive field.
