More than 155 people killed in an unprecedented Israeli air attack onthe Gaza Strip - Hamas has called it a massacre - je 27.12.2008 14

Airstrikes and artillery fire by the Israeli military destroyed or damaged a number of Hamas government building, as well as schools and homes in the Gaza Strip. At least 155 people have been killed and some 250 wounded. In response - Arab foreign ministers say they'll meet within the next 48 hours to take a common position on the attacks. In Brussels - a spokesman for European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana has called for an immediate ceasefire. In Israel - one person has been reported killed by rocket fire from Gaza. Israeli Air strikes are reported to be continuing. Hamas has vowed it will responde to what it described as a "massacre." +++MAZ+++
