Next up: England vs. Trinidad and Tobago
England will have to come up with some new ideas, especially on offense, if they want a good result against the Trinidad and Tobago defense that held Sweden to a 0-0 draw. Stay with DW-WORLD.DE to see how the islanders do against each other.

Rooney fit to play
An independent doctor gave England's Wayne Rooney a clean bill of health for the game against T&T, but it looks like Sven-Goran Eriksson will be leaving him on the bench -- at least to start.

Here's how the teams will be taking the field:
England (4-4-2)

Paul Robinson; 15- Jamie Carragher, 5- Rio Ferdinand, 6- John Terry, 3- Ashley Cole; 7- David Beckham, 8- Frank Lampard, 4- Steven Gerrard, 11- Joe Cole; 10- Michael Owen, 21- Peter Crouch

Coach: Sven-Goran Eriksson

Trinidad & Tobago (4-4-2):

1- Shaka Hislop; 6- Dennis Lawrence, 5- Brent Sancho, 8- Cyd Gray, 11- Carlos Edwards; 9- Aurtis Whitley, 7- Chris Birchall, 18- Densill Theobald, 15- Kenwyne Jones; 14- Stern John, 19- Dwight Yorke

Coach: Leo Beenhakker Referee:

Toru Kamikawa (Japan)

Switching things up
One of Trinidad & Tobago's three changes was expected: Shaka Hislop, who came to the Cup as the number two keeper, will be starting in goal after his performance last week. T&T held Sweden to the tie largely thanks to his heroics in goal.

The other Trinidad & Tobago changes: Midfielder Aurtis Whitley will also be on the pitch for suspended defender Avery John and midfielder Kenwyne Jones replaces Collin Samuel.

England only had one change from the lineup that faced Paraguay. Jamie Carragher replaces the injured Gary Neville at right back.

Still friendly
Old friends from Manchester United, Beckham and Yorke exchange some kind words in the players' tunnel before taking the field.

1. min.
Kamikawa gets the clock started
England start with the ball.

1. min.
Trinidad & Tobago send a ball into the English penalty box, but Cole calmly passes it back to Robinson.

3. min.
Carragher take the first shot and it goes right into Hislop's arms.

4. min.
Theobald fouls Owen and England line up a free kick just a bit out of Beckham's range. His kick goes into the wall.

6. min.
Owen controls on the right wing before giving the ball up to Joe Cole.

6. min.
Gerrard rifles a shot that bounces of Hislop's chest, but it lands in front of Owen too quickly and the forward can't redirect it.

8. min.
Joe Cole lays the ball down the wing for Ashley Cole; the ensuing cross is headed out. Gerrard makes a stab toward goal himself. Not much cohesive buildup from England yet.

10. min.
Free kick T&T. Captain Yorke lines it up.

11. min.
Yorke sends the ball careening out over the end line without a single head coming within feet of it.

12. min.
Crouch tries to volley a shot from the spot but the ball never gets to his lanky frame.

14. min.
Hislop takes his time sending a ball forward. He can be happy with every minute England are not attacking.

16. min.
Cole crosses to Crouch
The diving Crouch is able to get a foot on the ball and force a save from Hislop for a corner.

17. min.
John was able to head out the first corner, Lawrence took care of the second and Gerrard sends a final shot way, way, over the crossbar.

18. min.
Theobald gets booked
The ref doesn't like Theobald's habit of holding Owen's jersey and shows him yellow.

19. min.
Beckham puts the free kick into the jumping wall. Joe Cole wins another 50-50 ball on the other side of the field.

19. min.
Whitley trips Gerrard
Whitley slides late into Gerrard and is given a yellow card.

20. min.
Beckham doesn't hit the wall
Instead it goes to Peter Crouch's head but the striker can't bring the ball back down; goal kick T&T.

22. min.
Crouch confused
Called offsides, Crouch looks around, convinced it must have been someone else in a piece of bad acting.

23. min.
Yorke sends an excellent cross into the England penalty box from an unlikely angle. Too bad there were no T&T forwards there to make an attempt.

24. min.
In their second good play, T&T's Edwards puts a shot over goal after two good passes through midfield.

25. min.
Beckham moves into the center of the field and gets ready to do his job of distributing the ball to where it needs to be.

27. min.
Crouch flicks the ball to Lampard
but before the ball can even come to the ground there are three red Trinidad & Tobago around him, cutting off any chance of a shot.

29. min.
Yorke on the ground
The T&T captain is hurt in his own end of the field. A rocket off Gerrard's foot hit him between the legs and he needs a minute (at least) to walk it off.

30. min.
Rooney jogs on the sideline

31. min.
Yorke comes back on the field and looks ready to play.

32. min.
Beckham sends in a long ball to Crouch -- the striker is ready to head it home, but Hislop has other plans.

33. min.
Shot of desperation
Gerrard shoots high above the goal -- again.

34. min.
Trinidad & Tobago stand strong
The T&T defense isn't letting anything get too close to goal.

35. min.
Lampard decides if he can't get close, he'll try from farther out and fires a shot from 35 meters just wide of goal.

36. min.
Corner Trinidad and Tobago

37. min.
Chance T&T
Yorke fakes a short corner then sends the ball to the far post where a diving John puts it wide of goal in T&T's best scoring chance of the match.

39. min.
Whitley gets the ball past three English players before being fouled. Yorke sends in a long ball that Jones redirects it over the goal.

41. min.
Lampard takes a pass from Owen. Standing alone at the spot he puts the ball over the crossbar and can only curse himself as he turns away. Looks like Owen has a few curses for him as well after the miss.

42. min.
Add Crouch to the list of England misses
Crouch continues the streak of English players alone in front of goal who shoot well-wide of goal.

44. min.
Beckham gives away his next cross just when England looked like they might be able to put together a string of decent passes.

45. min.
England clears off the line
Terry clears the ball off the line after Robinson gets caught too far out and a ball bounces in the penalty box

45+1. min.
Jones gets a card
Jones is carded for pushing Terry as he cleared the ball in the last play.

45+2. min.
Beckham back heel
Beck's sends a ball back into the penalty box with his heel -- the Crouch and Owen, however, had already cleared out of the area.

45+3. min.
Halftime

What's next Sven?
Group underdog Trinidad & Tobago hold another highly favored team to a scoreless halftime draw. Eriksson will have to come up with a new plan to break down the T&T defense if he doesn't want to leave his job at England in shame.

Trinidad & Tobago: Is that all you've got, England?
More was expected of England going into the first half and with 13 shots and five corner kicks (to Trinidad & Tobago's five shots and two corners) Beckham and co. have little excuse for their play in the first 45 minutes. Let's hope for a more exciting second half.

46. min.
There's the whistle -- the second half has started

47. min.
Hislop gets booked
The T&T keeper is booked for delay of game in taking the first goal kick of the second half.

49. min.
Carragher pushes down Gray in a sprint to the ball and gets called for it. England, who aren't running much, don't look particularly interested in the match as many of their passes and crosses are straying far off course.

52. min.
Yorke takes two Englanders to town
In a sprint with the ball down the middle of the field, Yorke puts two defenders behind him before Joe Cole can stop him with a foul.

53. min.
Rooney keeps running
Wayne Rooney is still warming up on the sidelines. Did Sven send him there, or is Rooney there of his own accord?

55. min.
Bike kick from Crouch
Crouch takes a pass from Lampard, traps it and shoots, but doesn't get enough spin on the ball to make a good try of it.

56. min.
Sid Gray booked
Late and violent, Gray gets yellow for driving into Michael Owen.

56. min.
Owen misses by inches
Beckham sends the free kick directly to Owen's head, the striker connects and the ball hits the post before going out.

58. min.
Double change for England
Rooney comes on for Owen and Aaron Lennon is on for Carragher.

59. min.
Rooney makes his first appearance back on the international soccer stage to the crowd's vociferous delight.

61. min.
Looking for the two new players, Beckham hits a free kick over the end line before either of them are ready to attack.

62. min.
Lennon uses his first touch on the ball to send a cross long over the penalty area.

63. min.
Lampard likes Crouch's book
The next cross comes in for England and Lampard tries to take a lesson from Crouch and also misses on his bicycle kick.

64. min.
Lampard sees yellow
Lampard's late sliding tackle is met with a stern look and yellow card by referee Kamikawa.

68. min.
Pack up the back
Jones and Yorke are the only two T&T players in the midfield. Everyone else in stacked in the back making England's life difficult.

70. min.
Chance for England
Lennon passes to Beckham, who is able to get a well-aimed cross to Crouch's head; the ball goes high.

71. min.
T&T make a change
Cornell Glen comes on for Kenwyne Jones.

72. min.
Birchall takes a shot that's not a problem for an otherwise bored Robinson.

73. min.
Beckham hasn't shown his ability to take free kicks today. Instead of his customary lethal kicks, he shoots another ball straight into a defender.

74. min.
Another goes high of Lampard's foot
Lampard takes a cross from Lennon but can't get it on goal.

75. min.
England make final change
Joe Cole leave the pitch for Stewart Downing.

76. min.
T&T make a charge
Glen gets past Ashley Cole and tangled up in Terry before Cole is able to get back and take the ball off Glen's foot.

77. min.
Who wants to shoot on goal?
Crouch and Rooney pass back and forth between each other before Lampard gets free in the middle. In a scene that would have fit the first half, he fires a shot right at keeper Hislop.

79. min.
Lampard brings another through the goal box that he can't convert into a goal.

80. min.
Stern John makes a first play late in the game. He twists away from the defense and puts a right-footed shot near goal.

82. min.
Downing brings the ball down the flank his cross finds the middle of the penalty area, but not an English striker.

83. min.
GOAL ENGLAND!
Crouch puts in the header!

84. min.
After countless missed crosses, Beckham finally gets one on target and all 6 feet 7 inches of Peter Crouch are waiting to head the ball home.

85. min.
Trinidad & Tobago make last change
Evan Wise comes on for Theobald.

88. min.
English fans reawaken
After a long quiet period, the English fans in Nuremberg erupt into choruses of God Save the Queen and Football's Coming Home.
