# The European Union and the United Nations are sending fact-finding missions to Libya to assess the situation there. UN general secretary Ban Ki-moon has called on Libya's leadership to stop what he's calling disproportianate violence and attacks on civilians. The teams will arrive as intense fighting continues in parts of the country, mainly along the Mediterranean coast.
