A US appeals court has granted a stay of extradition to John Dem-jan-juk, a man wanted in Germany for Nazi war crimes. The ruling came hours after US agents took Dem-janjuk from his Ohio home to send him to Munich. He stands accused of aiding the murder of 29 thousand Jews while serving as a concentration camp guard in the Second World War. Demjanjuk's son petitioned the court to block his 89-year-old father's extraditition.. saying it amounted to torture.
