Switzerland, Austria and Luxembourg have offered to relax strict bank secrecy in some tax evasion cases, in response to a global led crackdown on tax havens. Germany has been particularly vocal in demanding new regulations to deal with money parked illegally in offshore accounts. Finance Minister Per Steinbrück has locked horns with both Switzerland and Luxemburg over the issue, with accusations and verbal attacks flying back and forth... some say the whole thing has been blown completely out of proportion.
