EU foreign ministers meeting in Brussels have renewed their backing for an agreement that allows the American government access to the private banking details of all Europeans. The deal is being sharply criticized by democracy activists and civil rights groups. Washington says it needs the information from private bank accounts for its global anti-terror effort.
