A leading market research group here in Germany says pessimism is growing among consumers about the health of the economy. GfK said their latest poll showed consumer confidence at its lowest point since the group first began its nationwide surveys in 1991. But in a surprising twist, GfK found that consumer SPENDING nevertheless remains buoyant.
