Government officals in Burma say that at least 22-thousand people have died from Cyclone Nargis. Foreign aid workers in the country though are estimating the number could be twice that high - with upwards of three million people now homeless. The disaster is being placed on a scale comparable with the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. Cyclone Nargis was so powerful it wiped out an entire town of 10-thousand in the Irrawaddy river delta.
