Earlier today, outgoing ECB president Jean Claude Trichet was chairing the bank's last monthly policy meeting under HIS leadership. As expected, the bank left its key interest rate at 1.5-percent. It also unveiled new measures to help eurozone banks with additional liquidity in a bid to avert a possible credit crunch in the single currency area.
