Ecological disaster looms off the coast of Louisiana as a giant oil slick begins to reach the shore

Marcus SchlenchApril 30, 2010

We start in the United States - where President Barack Obama has said off shore oil drilling must be done responsilibily - and that all future drilling operations leased to companies will be subject to stricter safety measures. This as an environmental disaster is looming along the US Gulf Coast - with a massive oil spill inching towards the shore. A part of the slick has already reached the Louisiana coastline. The US government has sent senior government members to assess the situation in the states of Loiusiana, MISSISippi, Alabama, and Florida.
