Danish police release hundreds of protesters detained at a mass demonstration for tougher action on climate change

Karlotta BahnsenDecember 13, 2009

Police in Copenhagen have released all but a few of some 1000 protesters arrested on Saturday. The UN Climate Conference enters its decisive second half in the Danish Capital, where political leaders and scientists from 192 countries have gathered to hammer out a new climate protection deal. An estimated 40 000 demonstrators joined a mostly peaceful march outside the conference venue on Saturday, demanding more decisive action from world leaders.
