Axel Weber resigns as head of Deutsche Bundesbank

Axel Weber, head of the German Bundesbank, resigned on Friday. After days of speculation he told Chancellor Angela Merkel and Finance Minister Wolfgang Schaeuble in a meeting in Berlin that he wanted to leave on April 30th for personal reasons. A successor will be named in the coming weeks.
