Police clash with squatters in Copenhagen
Police in the Danish capital Copenhagen have clashed with youths who were protesting at their eviction from a youth centre in the city. The demonstrators threw bottles and stones at police and set barricades on fire. One German man was taken to hospital after being hit on the head with an object. Police detained around 70 people. Squatters and left-wing activists have been using the building, a former theatre, for over 20 years. However a conflict erupted after it was sold in 2000 to a church body which obtained a court order to have the squatters evicted.
