Forty Years since the Prague Spring
On August 21, 1968, Czechoslovakia's dream of greater indepence and democratization came to an abrupt end. Russian tanks rolled in, shooting at defenseless citizens. Documents have recently come to light which reveal that the East German government wanted to send its People's Army to Prague and only backed down due to Soviet pressure. 15-year-old Manfred Kuhlisch from East Berlin witnessed the Soviet invasion first hand. After returning home from Prague he was arrested and spent months in the Stasi prison in Berlin's Hohenschönhausen district.
Older Drivers -- Why Seniors Are A Menace Behind the Wheel
There are more and more older drivers on German roads and they're involved in a growing number of accidents. Seniors, not novice drivers, are the group which causes the most accidents in Germany. While many European countries have long required older drivers to undergo periodic driving tests, Germany hasn't followed suit. Still many senior citizens here willingly go back to driving school to keep themselves fit behind the wheel.

Vitali Klitschko cuts a good figure both in and out of the ring. Since Ukraine's Orange Revolution of 2004/2005, the former heavyweight boxing champ has fought for his homeland in the political arena and sits as leader of his own party, the "Klitschko Bloc," on Kiev's city council. Raw Materials - Why Commodities Are Hot Properties Again
With prices for many raw materials rising rapidly, Germans have developed a sudden interest in what lies beneath their feet. From the North Sea to the Bavarian Forest, people are once again digging for oil, fluorite, tungsten, copper and tin. Even old, long abandoned mine shafts -- like the one in the town of Niederschlag in Saxony -- are due for reopening.
