Collecting for Berlin – The Berggruen Family

Heinz Berggruen was one of the most important art collectors of the 20th century. This was fortunate for Berlin, because works by Picasso, Paul Klee, Cézanne and van Gogh are now on show in the Berggruen museum, which the Jewish art dealer established in his native city after 60 years in exile. The family maintains its artistic links with Berlin following his death last year. The museum is to be extended, and Heinz Berggruen's sons are donating more pictures. An ARTS.21 exclusive: the Berggruen brothers in Berlin.

A Left-wing Childhood – Lenin only Got as far as Lüdenscheid

44 year-old writer Richard David Precht grew up in West Germany, but without Coca Cola, Starship Enterprise and pop music - because he grew up in a left-wing household. Precht's book on his experiences - 'Lenin kam nur bis Lüdenscheid', 'Lenin only got as far as Lüdenscheid' - went straight into the best-seller lists. Now it's been turned into a film - an amusing story about ideals and sectarianism - and the happiness of being a child.Bildunterschrift: Großansicht des Bildes mit der Bildunterschrift:
