After Thomas Willemeit, Lars Krückeberg and Wolfram Putz graduated from Braunschweig University at the end of the 1990s, they founded the GRAFT architectural practice in Los Angeles. A commission from Hollywood star Brad Pitt led to a fairytale career for the young architects. Now they work all over the world, and have offices in the USA, China and Germany. Collecting for Berlin – The Berggruen Family
Heinz Berggruen was one of the most important art collectors of the 20th century. This was fortunate for Berlin, because works by Picasso, Paul Klee, Cézanne and van Gogh are now on show in the Berggruen museum, which the Jewish art dealer established in his native city after 60 years in exile. The family maintains its artistic links with Berlin following his death last year. The museum is to be extended, and Heinz Berggruen's sons are donating more pictures.
