France's civil aviation authority says flights in and out of Paris's two main airports are being cancelled due to a strike by air traffic controllers.

Half of all flights out of Orly airport and 15 percent of flights to and from Charles de Gaulle airport will be cancelled Thursday, says the DGAS aviation authority. Thursday is the second day of protests over job cuts and reforms that air traffic controllers fear would endanger their status as French civil servants.

The strike is expected to end Friday morning. Travellers are advised to contact their airlines to get flight information.
