The east side of the Berlin Wall drew artists from around the world. For the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Wall, they were invited back to Berlin to renovate their works of art.

The East Side Gallery came into being when a remaining portion of the Berlin Wall was decorated with works of art following the fall of the Wall in 1989. It has since become a symbol of German reunification. Berlin's Oberbaum Bridge can also be be seen in this image.
