Study Says Controversial School Teaches Hate

The controversial King Fahd Academy, a privately funded Muslim school in Bonn, teaches children to hate, a study of more than 40 text books used by the school conducted by the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia's State Institute for Schools, an advisory board consisting of educational experts, has concluded. The results of the study were revealed to German public broadcaster ARD, which will air them on Thursday. According to the study, the school's children are taught that "the Muslim people's existence has been threatened by Jews and Christians since the crusades, and it is the first duty of every Muslim to prepare to fight against these enemies." Despite such alarming passages, officials in Bonn have been unable to close the school because it is a foreign school operated with foreign funds and is, therefore, not subject to the German school board's oversight. However, students attending the school must receive a special dispensation from attending public schools, and some are urging those responsible for issuing the latter to restrict them as much as possible in order to reduce enrollment at the school.
